LAKE ARROWHEAD (CBSLA.com) — A search for a missing hiker from Germany entered its fourth day on Friday with approximately 50 search-and-rescue personnel scouring the Pinnacle Trail area of Lake Arrowhead.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department said in a statement that Alois Krost has been missing since about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Described as an experienced hiker and hunter, authorities say Krost became separated from his hiking party.

The 62-year-old man was last seen wearing a light blue, long-sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans.

The statement said Krost was also wearing hiking shoes but had no other equipment with him.

Authorities said Krost was in the Southland for a scientific conference at the UCLA Conference Center.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts was asked to contact the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station at (909) 336-0600 or Sheriff's Dispatch at (909) 387-8313.
