Robber Breaks Into Santa Clarita Home, Fires Shot At Residents

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities asked the public's help Wednesday for information about a suspect who broke into a Santa Clarita home and fired at the residents.

The elderly residents at a home in the 19400 block of Green Mountain Drive were awakened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday by the sound of breaking glass, Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said.

Deputies say that when one of the residents went to investigate, he saw a male standing in their home point a handgun and fire a round in the resident's direction. The bullet fired from the handgun missed the resident and the suspect fled from the home.

No one was injured, authorities said.

Deputies say the suspect was male, but there was no further description of the suspect available.

Anyone with information about this home invasion robbery can contact Santa Clarita Valley Station Detective Painter (661) 799-5141 or at BCPainte@lasd.org.
