Tree Trimmer Apparently Killed By Fallen Palm Frond

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA) --  A tree trimmer who was reported to be unconscious up a palm tree in Hacienda Heights Thursday afternoon has died.

Desmond Shaw in SKY9 said officials said the man may have been hit by a huge palm frond and knocked unconscious.

He was reported dead after Los Angeles County Fire crews responded to the scene just before 4 p.m.

When rescue crews arrived, the 49-year-old man was reported to be unconscious and unresponsive.

The accident occurred in the 15000 block of Garo Street.

The victim was approximately 40-50 feet above ground at the time of the accident.

The exact cause of the man's death is under investigation.
