Privately-Funded Bicycle Sharing Coming To LA In April

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A privately-funded bicycle sharing program kicks off in downtown Los Angeles in April.

Bike Nation says the eventual citywide system will have 4,000 bikes and 400 kiosks in the city.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Los Angeles Clippers player Caron Butler were on hand Thursday for the announcement that the bike-share program will debut downtown in April.

The program will not be subsidized by taxpayers.
