Police Seek Armed Carjacking Suspects In Claremont
CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) — Officers sought the public's help Saturday to locate four suspects involved in an overnight carjacking.
According to the Claremont Police Department, officers were sent just after midnight to the area of Scripps Avenue and Towne Avenue in regards to an armed carjacking.
Two suspects reportedly approached a victim that was traveling in a white 1998 Toyota 4Runner.
One of the suspects displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victims cell phone and vehicle.
The two men fled Eastbound in the victim's car, license plate number reading 7BRG824.
According to police, the two men originally arrived traveled to the location in a dark colored four-door Honda or Toyota vehicle with two additional suspects.
The other two suspects also traveled Eastbound on Scripps Avenue after their accomplices stole the victim's car.
Officers described the first suspect as a 25-year-old Hispanic male that is 5-foot-8 and weighs 150 pounds. He was seen with a short "buzz" cut and was wearing a white T-shirt with a face or skeleton type skull on it at the time of the crime.
The second suspect is described as a 25-year-old Hispanic male that is 5-foot-9 and weighs about 170 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark green jacket with a red bandana around his face, officer said.
Police were unable to provide a description of the other two suspects involved in this crime.
