Police Hunt For Suspect In Deadly Taco Stand Shooting
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Los Angeles police Saturday released a composite sketch of a suspect in the Oct. 17, shooting death of a young man at a North Hollywood taco stand.
Vartan Avatyan, 18, was standing with a group of friends at the El Michoacano on Lankershim Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. when a gunman walked up, pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to police.
The suspect then ran to a car, described by witnesses as a four-door compact and fled west on Sherman Way.
A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information leading to a conviction in the case.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 8 inches and 175 pounds, with black hair, a light-brown complexion and patchy facial hair.
Police said he was seen wearing a white "hoodie" and long gym shorts.
