Police Search For 3 Suspects In Connection With Fatal Winnetka Stabbing
WINNETKA (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian was stabbed to death overnight in Winnetka in a crime that police believe to be related to a robbery that occurred 15 minutes earlier.
Officers were dispatched to the scene, near the corner of Sherman Way and Lurline Avenue, at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
The LAPD said three suspects approached the victim and threw him to the ground, where they began to fight.
One of the suspects pulled a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m., the LAPD said.
The three suspects were last seen leaving the crime scene in a dark, mid-sized SUV, said Lt. Steve Embrich of the LAPD's Topanga station.
An LAPD spokesman said the attack appears to be related to a nearby robbery that occurred about 15 minutes earlier in the 7600 block of Mason Avenue.
