Police: Pickup Truck May Be Clue To Riverside Girl's Kidnapping

RIVERSIDE (AP) — Riverside police are hoping that video of a pickup truck will help them find a kidnapper who took a sleeping 9-year-old girl from an apartment, assaulted her and dumped her on a street miles from her home.

Police said in a news conference Tuesday that they are trying to enhance the video, but have not released a description of the suspect.

The FBI has also joined the investigation.

The girl remains hospitalized at Loma Linda Medical Center with undisclosed injuries but is expected to recover. She was initially described as being in serious condition.

The girl was taken from a second-story apartment during the weekend by someone who climbed in an unlocked window. She was later dumped from the car. Police said that she knocked on several doors in a neighborhood asking for help.
