Police: Man Attempts To Sexually Assault Woman Out Walking Dogs In Ventura

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — A woman reportedly was attacked by a man Sunday while out walking her dogs in Ventura.

The victim occurred at 11:05 a.m. near Cameron and Shoshone streets, according to the Ventura Police Department.

The woman told officers a man, whom she later identified as Anthony Morales, had been following her along several streets.

She confronted the 24-year-old man and he pushed her from behind. She fell to the ground and Morales attempted to remove her clothing, police said.

Neighbors heard her cries for help and called police.

Officers found Morales several blocks away and the victim identified him as the suspect.

He was booked at Ventura County Jail on suspicion of attempted rape.

The victim sustained minor injuries.
