GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — Police say one person has died following an officer-involved shooting in Garden Grove.

The shooting at the intersection of Strathmore Drive and Dorada Avenue occurred about 6:49 p.m. Saturday.

Lt. Jeff Nightengale said police were sent to the area following a report that a knife-wielding man was chasing people down the street.

Upon arrival, officers confronted the man, repeatedly ordering him to drop the knife. When he refused to comply, police opened fire.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators in the Orange County District Attorney's office are expected to review the internal investigation.
