Pasadena police fatally shoot dog after responding to woman in distress
Pasadena police fatally shot a dog Tuesday night after responding to calls of a woman in distress.
The Pasadena Police Department said they received calls around 9:05 p.m. about a woman who was on the ground near East California Boulevard and South Hudson Avenue.
Officers said someone passing by saw the woman lying with a large dog that was not on a leash. The person passing by said the woman was allegedly making incoherent statements.
Police arrived at the scene but did not see the dog. They claim the dog lunged at them and they fatally shot it.
The woman was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
