LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The last President Barack Obama was in town, drivers from LAX all the way to downtown were stuck in a traffic nightmare during rush hour. But with a little planning, officials hope this next visit will be different.

Obama arrives in town next week to campaign at the University of Southern California on behalf of Sen. Barbara Boxer and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown -- a place he hasn't visited since 2006, while he was a U.S. senator.

The Oct. 22 visit will be Obama's fifth trip to the Southland since taking office. His most recent visit, Aug. 16-17, raised the ire of many commuters because of traffic jams caused on the Westside due to the presidential motorcade.
