Officials Identify Woman Found Dead In Burned Garage Days After Fire

PASADENA (CBS) — Coroner's officials have identified the woman whose charred remains were found inside a garage that had burned down two days earlier.

An insurance company investigator found Yolanda Marie Sapetto, 43, inside a garage on Aug. 2. The structure was located behind a home on South San Marino Avenue in Pasadena.

No details were given as to why firefighters missed Sapetto when they fought the blaze two days earlier.

An autopsy has been performed by the cause of death is still pending, L.A. County Coroner's office spokesman Craig Harvey said.

Pasadena police say Sapetto appeared to have been homeless and her death looks suspicious.
