Nonprofit Supporting Orphans, Foster Teens Holding Fundraiser
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — When orphans and foster kids turn 18, they're often abandoned by the system.
But local charity -- Safety Harbor Kids -- is helping to change that by introducing them to music, art and career possibilities.
They've already helped more than 2,000 kids.
The group raises funds through events like their upcoming star-studded Polo fundraiser. The event will be held Saturday, June 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Will Rogers State Park in the Pacific Palisades.
Tickets are $95 each.
Petrie Williams, co-founder of Safety Harbor Kids, appeared on KCAL9 News on Monday to discuss this and more.
