LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One Corona woman took it upon herself to write a letter to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, detailing her thoughts on his recent comments about Muslims in America.

"I'm tired of him getting away with the person that he is, and it's unfair," Mawra Balkar said.

The 22-year-old told CBS2's Crystal Cruz that she wrote the letter because she was offended by Trump's answers to a reporter's questions about whether there should be a database to monitor Muslims in the United States.

Trump said earlier this week that, "There should be a lot of systems everywhere, beyond databases. I mean, we should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it. But right now we have to have a border; we have to have strength. We have to have a wall, and we cannot let what's happening to this country happen any longer."

"He's in a huge position of power, and the message he's spreading is hatred, and when you're a person at the other end of that, you feel frightened," Balkar added.

Balkar's letter to Trump also explained that she would choose her own ID badge, because she's not easily identifiable as a Muslim. She posted a photo of herself and the badge, a peace sign, that she says represents her Islam.

More than 1,000 people have commented on Balkar's post, with a few writing "beautiful", "You go girl" and "peace and love for humanity."

"If he [Trump] does apologize, I think that's the most I can ask of him," Balkar said.

Trump's camp insists he didn't start the discussion about databases and ID badges, saying he was first asked the question by reporters.

Balkar says Trump has not yet responded to her letter.
