Los Angeles County authorities searching for missing swimmer off the coast of Malibu

Authorities began a search for a reported missing swimmer off the coast of Malibu on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the report came in at about 3:13 p.m., although it's not yet clear when or where the swimmer was last seen.

State lifeguards and the U.S. Coast Guard were assisting with search efforts.

No additional details were immediately made available.
