Metro To Begin New 'Valley-Westside Express' Bus Route Monday

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Metro will begin service Monday of a new bus service from the San Fernando Valley to the Westside.

The new line will utilize the recently completed 405 carpool lanes between Van Nuys and Westwood, saving transit riders 20 minutes of time in each direction compared with current Metro bus service, officials said.

The service will run approximately every 15 minutes during peak morning and afternoon periods.

Currently, existing bus routes between the Valley and the Westside involve surface streets and takes about an hour to travel each way.
