Gang Member Killed In Car-To-Car Shooting In Fontana
FONTANA (CBS) — Fontana police are investigating the death of a man who was killed in a car-to-car shooting.
Officials say the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday. They say two men were attempting to make a U-turn near the intersection of Cherry and Jurupa avenues when a gunman in another car opened fire on their Mitsubishi, hitting the passenger. The driver of the Mitsubishi continued driving for about a mile before stopping on Village Drive.
The passenger, who police say was in his 20s, died at the scene.
Sgt. Billy Green says two other men, also believed to be gang members, were in the car but they weren't hurt. He says the shooting is believed to be gang related.
