Man Gets 46 Years To Life For Stabbing Boy, 7

LONG BEACH (AP) — A Long Beach man who stabbed to death his girlfriend's 7-year-old son and slashed the boy's mother has been sentenced to 46 years to life in prison.

Peniamina Tomasi, who needed a Samoan interpreter, was convicted by a jury last month of first-degree murder and attempted murder with special allegations for using a knife. The 31-year-old Tomasi was sentenced Thursday by a Long Beach judge.

Prosecutors say Tomasi and his girlfriend shared an apartment with eight children, five of them his, and he became angry on Jan.

8 and stabbed 7-year-old Felix Sanchez, who had seven knife wounds. He then plunged the knife into his girlfriend's back.
