Three Hurt In Wreck; PCH Shut Down in Malibu

MALIBU (CBSLA) — The Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu has reopened following a three-vehicle crash Sunday night which sent three people to the hospital.

The crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. at Zuma Beach.

A car plowed into two parked cars and each vehicle had at least one person inside, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. K. Mendoza said. The preliminary assessment was that "speed was a factor," she added.

Two people were airlifted to a local hospital and a third person was transported by ambulance, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Their conditions were not confirmed.

The PCH was reopened about 11:10 p.m., the sheriff's department said.
