Let's Make A Deal: Dress On A Dime
I can be a hoarder and this clotheshorse loves dresses and shoes. I happen to hoard lots of things, but that's another post for another day. Let me make this clear right off the bat. I do not let my three cats crawl over piles of jeans and shirts. I may be a crazy cat lady, but I'm tidy too. I just cram way too many things into my closet and once it's about to burst, I spend a day going through everything and I'm left with black trashbags full of clothing I hand off to the nearest person willing to pick it up.
I also love consignment stores, vintage clothing and new stuff for dirt cheap, but let me get to the point. This is becoming like a therapy session! I know I feel better and you may too, once I manage to get out the facts.
It starts Friday and I have the inside scoop. Friday there's a line to get in. Saturday it's kinda busy and Sunday it's a free for all, because prices are slashed to half-off.
If you have clothing, jewelry or shoes you would like to sell, they are looking for consignors. They promise payment within two weeks of the event, unlike consignment stores, where many items gather dust for months. I think it's a great way to make a little extra money in this horrible economy with so many of us dealing with unemployment, cutbacks and budgets. Even if you aren't, we all love a bargain!
If you're interested in becoming a consignor, Dress on a Dime will give you 65% of the selling price of your item and 70% if you volunteer to help out. If I volunteered I'd be pushing my stuff for sale so that sounds like a win-win to me.
