Man's fatal fall from cliff in Santa Clarita deemed accidental
Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in Santa Clarita.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies were dispatched the scene on Rigel Drive a little before 2:30 p.m., after learning that a body had been found in the area.
The body was identified as 67-year-old John Mahaffey of Santa Clarita. Authorities said early Monday that the fall appeared to be accidental.
It's unclear what Mahaffey was doing in the area just before he fell.
