LAPD Searching For Suspects In Two Pacoima Shootings
PACOIMA (CBSLA.com) — The LAPD is searching for suspects in connection to a shooting that shattered a car's rear window in Pacoima Wednesday, shortly after gunfire in a separate incident resulted in the lockdown of a nearby elementary school.
California Highway Patrol Officer Tatiana Sauquillo told City News Service shots were fired near San Fernando Road and the 118 Freeway at 3:41 p.m.
It was unclear whether anyone was wounded in the incident.
Another shooting was reported nearby at the 13500 block of Weidner Street at about the same time. That incident resulted in a brief lockdown at Telfair Elementary School.
LAPD spokeswoman Officer Susan Torres said authorities are investigating if the two incidents are related.
A perimeter had been set up in the area to narrow the search for suspects. Police said Wednesday evening that effort had been abandoned after no leads were found.
