Missing Man With Dementia Reunited With Family

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say an 84-year-old man with dementia was reunited with his family late Friday after vanishing for hours.

Zosimo Liong was located at a restaurant in the San Fernando Valley hours after he was reported missing.

The elderly man had been last seen about 10:30 a.m. Friday walking away from his home in the 8700 block of Katherine Avenue in Panorama City.

Police said a search dog picked up Liong's scent after someone reported seeing him after watching a television report.

When Liong was found, he was cold, had a cut lip, and was a bit disoriented, authorities said.

He was otherwise OK.
