LAPD Hopes New Tipster App Will Help Catch Criminals
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Authorities are hoping a new mobile application designed for iPhone and Android users will them catch criminals by giving users anonymity.

"The program allows for complete anonymity so people don't have to be afraid to tell us what's going on in their neighborhoods," said a LAPD Crimestoppers coordinator.
The app allows for users to upload videos and photos. Officials say police can also use it to talk to tipsters without giving up their identity.
