Lancaster Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Wife After Christmas Day Argument

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  A Lancaster man has been charged with shooting his wife during a Christmas Day argument.

Thomas Richard Silas, 64, faces one count of attempted murder, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Paul Moll said Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Silas shot his wife three times following an argument over finances shortly after midnight December 25.

Complaints filed Monday contain allegations of domestic violence with great bodily injury and use of a handgun.

Silas' arraignment is scheduled Tuesday morning in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of 32 years to life in state prison.

An investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lancaster Station is ongoing.
