LA Gun Buyback Event Slated For Saturday
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Department, Mayor Eric Garcetti and CBS2/KCAL9 will host a gun buyback event Saturday at three locations across the city.
Residents can anonymously turn in their firearms in south and central Los Angeles and in the San Fernando Valley from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In exchange for the guns, residents will receive up to a $100 Ralph's gift card for shotguns, rifles and handguns and a $200 gift card for Calif. classified assault weapons.
Quantities of gift cards are limited and subject to availability.
The gun buyback program has been credited with safe surrendering of thousands of guns over the history of the program.
