It has become a rarity nowadays to find a quiet, quaint bookstore that has a coffee shop on the premises. It's nice to find independent bookstores where you can have some coffee, buy a book and just relax and get away from the outside world. Here are few to check out.

It's a two-level place, so there is always an area to set up and get some privacy. This shop is open late so this is the perfect place for a last-minute study cram over a cup of coffee.

The Library is famous in Long Beach among the locals as well as tourists who visit LA. It's a cool place to meet lots of people from all over and support great coffee, with a nice pastry selection and various spots for reading to boot. You can grab a sandwich and soup too. There are used books for sale as well as a shop for gifts and knick-knacks. The setting is rustic comfortable with brick walls and chandeliers.
