STUDIO CITY (CBS) — We are looking at significantly cooler weather as we make our way into the weekend.

The onshore flow returns Friday, and most cities will experience a 5- to 10-degree drop in temperature. The high desert will still remain near 90.

A low-pressure system will drop into the area over the weekend, bringing us windy conditions and temperatures down to the 60s by Sunday.

Expect gusty winds in the high desert by Friday afternoon. As the marine layer deepens this weekend, there will be a chance for some isolated drizzle, especially on Sunday and Monday.

The basic trend over the next several days will be below-average temps and a mix of clouds and sunshine.

Coastal - low 70s
Basin - mid 70s
Valleys - low 80s
Deserts - low 90s
Mountains - low 70s
