STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Rim of the World schools are closed and roughly 7,000 Southland residents remain without power following Sunday's soaker.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power says 3,200 customers in the Mid-Wilshire, Winnetka and Van Nuys areas remain without power. Nearly 4,000 Southern California Edison customers in Covina, Cypress, Gardena, Huntington Beach, Huntington Park, Long Beach, Monterey Park, Paramount, Pomona, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Clarita, Stanton, Temple City, Vernon and Whittier are also without power.
Sunday's storm system will exit the region Monday morning, but roads are still wet and a couple of heavy downpours can be expected in the Inland Empire.
Rainfall totals ranged from .5" to 1.5", but a couple of spots saw more rainfall, as much as 3" in some foothill areas.
Once the rain stops, expect skies to turn partly cloudy with daytime highs topping out in the low to mid 60s. The snow level is hovering near 5,000 feet.
Look for sunshine on Tuesday with some slight warming into the mid to upper 60s.
Right now, long-range forecast models are advertising the chance for a shower next weekend.
