Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (April 25)
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — We are tracking a low-pressure system that has been stationary for the last day. It's just now starting to move east.
There is a wave of energy out ahead of the system that is translating into rain for Santa Barbara County and portions of Ventura County this morning.
Eventually, the low is expected to track to the east and move through the region at a pretty good clip.
After this morning hit of rain, there will be a break before the low moves through this afternoon and evening.
Right now, rainfall estimates will be .25" to .75". Foothill communities and areas that get hit by a thunderstorm could see some higher totals.
There could be some heavy downpours, and there is enough lift with the system to give us thunderstorms as the low moves overhead.
This will not be a big snow maker, as levels will be well above 6,000 feet. The rain should taper off into showers later tonight, with just a few showers leftover before sunrise on Thursday.
We will dry out on Thursday and get some warmer weather for the end of the work week.
