Home Developer Offers Snore Room Feature For Spousal Escape
INDIO (CBS) — A home developer in Indio is offering relief for restless spouses with a revolutionary residential feature – a snore room.
Del Webb offers prospective residents of its new Sun City Shadow Hills development a "master retreat" feature, a secondary bedroom attached to the master suite through the bathroom.
"I think a snore room is a great idea," says prospective home buyer Mary Kay Dane. "I do know from personal experience of snoring."
The home builder says 23 percent of married couples prefer to sleep separately, and in this living community designed for adults 55 and over, the snore room is a necessity.
"We are getting a number of people who love the option," says sales staff member Eric Barker.
Some home buyers say they would never use a snore room, in which case the extra room can be used for an exercise or reading room.
Prospective buyer Al Moss says a snore room would be used on occasion in his household.
"It just depends on how much I've had to consume the night before," says Moss.
