Hacienda Heights Man, 51, Convicted Of Sexually Molesting 4 Underage Family Members

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com)  — A 51-year-old Hacienda Heights man accused of sexually molesting several underage female family members was convicted Wednesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.

Deputy District Attorney Babette Huley said the jury deliberated for two hours before finding Juan Hernandez guilty of one count of continuous sexual abuse and four counts of lewd act upon a child.

Hernandez is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Robert M. Martinez June 26 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Pomona. The defendant faces a maximum sentence of 60 years to life in state prison.

The prosecutor said Hernandez sexually molested four underage family members between March 1999 and July 2007.

Authorities were notified about the sexual abuse and the defendant was arrested Sept. 26, 2013 and held on $4 million bail.
