Fire breaks out at Lancaster propane distribution facility
A fire broke out at a propane distribution facility in Lancaster on Friday afternoon.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the fire started at about 2:20 p.m. in the 42000 block of 8th Street E. Multiple propane tanks exploded during the blaze.
Firefighters said there were no injuries. No structures were threatened. Authorities have not issued an evacuation order.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the property is a Blue Rhino Propane distribution facility. Deputies said firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading outside of the facility.
"It's one of those things where they're pretty unpredictable," Deputy Kyle Cornell said. "They've got it knocked down significantly from when we got here earlier."
