Fake Nursing School To Close, Pay Cheated Students

LOS ANGELES - A fake nursing school in Los Angeles has been shut down and has agreed to pay hundreds of cheated students a combined $500,000 in restitution.

The California attorney general's office says the RN Learning Center created an illusion that it offered an accredited nursing program by holding graduations and classes

It says the school cashed in on $20,000 tuition from as many as 300 students who traveled to the Philippines for a month of clinical study in hospitals and prison.

The attorney general's office says students were notified their school was unlicensed when students applied to the state nursing board to become registered nurses.

There was no answer at a listing for RN Learning Center on Wednesday.
