Etiwanda Fire Grows To 2.1K Acres, 53 Percent Contained

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — The Etiwanda Fire has grown to more than 2,100 acres and was 53 percent contained, officials said Friday.

The Etiwanda Fire was first reported around 8:08 a.m. Wednesday in Etiwanda Canyon, just north of Rancho Cucamonga, the U.S. Forest Service said.

The 2,190-acre fire was under unified command by USFS, CAL FIRE, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Approximately 929 personnel were on scene Thursday, including 62 engines, 20 crews and three dozers, according to CAL Fire.

One home has sustained minor exterior damage. Two firefighters have suffered minor injuries, according to the USFS.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
