Driver Arrested After Crashing Maserati Into Power Pole In Valley Village
VALLEY VILLAGE (CBSLA.com) — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Wednesday after crashing into a power pole in Valley Village.
The collision unfolded shortly before 2 a.m. near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue, according to police.
A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a white Maserati struck two other vehicles before colliding into a power pole and a street sign.
Detectives said the power pole snapped in half as a result of the collision.
Paramedics treated a female passenger for minor injuries due to seat belt abrasions.
Westbound lanes of Magnolia Boulevard will remain closed until further notice, authorities said.
Laurel Canyon was shut down in both directions at Magnolia Boulevard until 7:45 a.m., KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reported.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews are assessing the live wire and power pole issue.
Electricity will be turned off to surrounding homes and businesses while crews make repairs in the area.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
