Drunken Intruder Who Crawled Into 10-Year-Old Girl's Bed Gets Sentenced

LONG BEACH (CBS) — A Whittier man arrested last month for sneaking into a Signal Hill home and getting into bed with a 10-year-old girl was sentenced Thursday to 170 days in jail.

Long Beach Superior Court Judge Laura Laesecke imposed the sentence after Sergio Antonio Osuna, 24, pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count each of trespass by entering or occupying and damaging a prison or jail.

Osuna, smelling of alcohol and wearing only boxers, was arrested at the home in the 1900 block of Cherry Avenue about 2:20 a.m. June 26, according to police spokeswoman Crista Martinez.

The girl's 15-year-old brother called police, and a neighbor helped the girl's father hold Osuna for police.

"When I got up I was like -- `Who is this?" the girl told reporters afterward.

She said she didn't hear Osuna come in, and "the only thing I knew is that he was laying on my bed, facing me."

Her father said he woke up "and I see the guy close to my daughter. I see the guy only in boxers, close to my daughter and say `What the hell?"'

Osuna pleaded to be let go, he said.

"I'm sorry for the guy, but it's my daughter," he told reporters.

Osuna reached through an open window to open the front door, Martinez said.

She said he had no criminal record and was not a registered sex offender.
