Doctor Convicted Of Fondling Patients Loses License
TORRANCE (AP) — A Southern California doctor who was convicted of fondling patients has lost his medical license.
The state medical board says its order revoking Mahendra Udani's license took effect Friday.
Udani is serving two years in jail on misdemeanor convictions for groping the breasts of two female patients in 2004.
The 57-year-old doctor practiced in Redondo Beach and Torrance. He was convicted in 2007 on 18 counts, including sexual battery.
Udani unsuccessfully appealed his conviction and was re-sentenced this year.
The medical board says it revoked Udani's license because he's now a registered sex offender.
