Can Kids Get Brain Damage From Too Much TV?

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — They don't call it the "boob tube" for nothing.

If you're a parent, you may want to keep your kids away from the TV and video games as much as possible: new research shows kids can suffer psychological damage from too much time in front of a television or computer screen.

Researchers from the University of Bristol say that a new study shows youngsters who spend hours each day watching TV or playing video games have more trouble relating to peers, emotional issues, and other conduct challenges than those kids who don't.

KFWB's Maggie McKay speaks with family therapist Dr. Sherri Myers, who says even kids who are physically active run an increased risk of psychological difficulties if they're spending even just a couple hours a day in front of the TV.
