Police Officers Fatally Shoot 2 Suspects In Westminster

WESTMINSTER (CBS) — Huntington Beach police officers shot and killed two suspects in Westminster Tuesday.

The shooting took place at approximately 4:30 p.m. near Hammon Place and Westminster Avenue. The incident began when Huntington Beach police officers attempted to stop the suspects' car.

Two men inside the vehicle refused to exit, and police heard gun shots. A woman inside the vehicle did heed police orders. Officers then returned gun fire.

No officers were injured, and it is still unclear what led to the police stop.

Witnesses at the scene described hearing many gun shots. "You could hear, somebody emptied a clip," said Tori Zapalowski.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department has taken over the officer involved shooting investigation.
