Bicyclist seriously injured by hit-and-run driver in Menifee
An investigation is underway after a bicyclist was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver who is still on the run in the Inland Empire last week.
it happened at around 7 p.m. on Thursday, near the intersection of Menifee Road and Triple Crown Road, according to the Menifee Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area after learning that the bicyclist, only identified as a 48-year-old man, was riding northbound on Menifee Road when a car steered toward the shoulder and hit him from behind.
They say that the driver, also unidentified, fled from the area instead of stopping to help the victim.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital with "serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his arms and a leg," police said.
Though there is no information on the suspect's identity, police believe they were driving a blue sedan that will likely have considerable front-end damage following the crash.
