Best Shopping Areas In Los Angeles

Shopping in Los Angeles is about more than just Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. From the trendy to trendsetting, L.A. offers some of the best shopping in the country. Here's a quick guide to some of the best shopping neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

La Brea Avenue, West Hollywood

La Brea Avenue, north of Wilshire Boulevard in West Hollywood, is home to one of L.A.'s best shopping neighborhoods. Whether you're looking for alternative or retro chic, this neighborhood is as cool as the other side of the pillow. You can shop at the ultra-hip vintage denim and more store, American Rag, or you can rub elbows with celebrity stylists at Blue Clothing.

Montana Avenue, Santa Monica

Forget Beverly Hills -- Montana Avenue is where the movie stars really go to shop! That, combined with its quiet, local feel is on one of the things that makes this one of the best shopping neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Montana Avenue is a quiet little street in the heart of the beach community of Santa Monica. With over 150 boutiques, restaurants and stores, Montana Avenue is a great way to spend a sunny Southern California day. You can pick up that to-die-for Ravello lamp at Jonathan Adler or some luscious preservative-free lotions at Kiehl's.

L.A. Fashion District, Downtown

If you're a fashionista on a tight budget, you need to head downtown. While most of the L.A. Fashion District is for wholesalers, there are still plenty of retail shops. And, best of all, it's still a bargain-hunter's paradise. The stores won't be brand names, but the clothing will be. Some of the usually wholesale-only stores open to the public on Saturdays, so that's the best, but busiest, day to shop.

Hours: Daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
