Ashlee Simpson Files For Divorce

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has filed for divorce from husband Pete Wentz.

Court records show Simpson filed for divorce Wednesday in L.A. Superior Court. Simpson cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.

The couple have a two-year-old son Bronx. The 26-year-old singer is asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody.

Simpson-Wentz and the Fall Out Boy bassit issued a joint statement, saying they plan to remain friends and that their first priority is their son.

The couple married in May 2008.
