Andre Ethier Extends Hitting Streak To 22-Games
MIAMI (CBS/AP) -- Andre Ethier singled in the top of the 1st inning off Florida's Ricky Nolasco to extend his hitting streak to 22-games.
That ties a major league baseball record for the longest April hitting streak in baseball. His former manager Joe Torre did it back in 1972.
Joe DiMaggio has the all-time record for a single-season, hitting in 56 consecutive games starting in May of 1941.
Ethier's hitting streak is a career best. He has had a hit in every game this season since going 0-4 in the second game of the season.
