Well, it beats staring at an urn. Artist Raven Collins has made a business of turning ashes to artwork. Yes, human ashes. Ashes of dead people (ideally). She mixes ashes with paint, mixes ashes with other stuff to make sculptures (an urn? -Ed.), and mixes ashes with nothing to create life-like portraits of the dearly departed, or whomever.

Asking price, $2-300. I think this such artwork would make a lovely addition to any family room. But close the window on windy days.
