3 Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting Of Man, 24, In Montclair

MONTCLAIR (CBSLA.com) — Three people were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Montclair, detectives said Wednesday.

Joe Cisneros was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 5400 block of  San Bernardino Street.

Witnesses said a vehicle described as a burgundy or red sports car left the scene at a high rate of speed shortly after the shooting. Detectives later received information that the Cisneros' girlfriend Karen Taylor owned a vehicle matching the description.

Taylor was located at a motel in Ontario with her 17-year-old son and friend Larry Oswalt of Desert Hot Springs, officials said.

All three admitted they were at the scene of the shooting but denied involvement and agreed to provide a statement at the Montclair Police Department.

While at the station, the suspects provided conflicting statements.

"Ultimately, they admitted to traveling to the victim's residence to assault him in some way," Montclair police said. "During the planned assault, the adult male suspect shot the victim several times. The three fled the scene in the female's vehicle, changed their clothing and hid the weapon."

The weapon and other evidence involved in the homicide was later located.

Taylor and Oswalt were booked at the West Valley Detention Center, and Taylor's son was booked at Juvenile Hall on suspicion of homicide.
