LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A gunman got out of a car in South Los Angeles early Sunday and shot one man in the head and another man in the stomach, police said.

The shooting in the 1700 block of West 50th Street occurred just after midnight, and the victim with the head wound was taken to a hospital in critical condition, said Los Angeles police Lt. Paul McKechnie of the 77th Street Station.

A description of the suspect vehicle was unavailable.

What triggered the attack was unknown. The victims' names were withheld.

Both were believed to be in their 20s.
