2 Dead After Car Veers Off 5 Freeway In Downey, Crashes Into Tree
DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed Saturday morning and another person was injured when their SUV veered off the 5 Freeway in Downey and into a tree.
The crash on the southbound freeway, at the Paramount Boulevard offramp, occurred shortly before 5 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A man and a woman died at the scene. Paramedics rushed a woman to an area trauma center, according to the Downey Fire Department.
A SigAlert was issued at 5:25 a.m., closing the Paramount Boulevard offramp for an unknown duration.
