$10K Reward In Slaying Of Altadena Youth Renewed

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A $10,000 reward for information in the slaying of an Altadena senior just days from graduating high school has been renewed.

Jerrill Dulaney, 17, was walking home from a friend's house late on the night of May 9, 2009 when he was shot several times outside 34 E. Altadena Drive, near Fair Oaks Avenue. He died at a hospital a few hours later.

Jerrill was about to graduate from John Muir High School and wanted to become a firefighter, according to his family, who also described the boy as shy with no gang ties.

The shooting, the only fatal one in a rash of three within a one-mile radius over a three-day period, prompted a community rally against violence.

The reward was set to expire March 15, but will now be available until at least June 13.

Anyone with information was asked to call sheriff's Sgt. Don Wall or Sandy Nava at (323) 890-5500.
